My stylist barely talked to me - didn’t even check in to see if what she was doing was okay - the salon was dusty (ceiling and lights hadn’t been dusted in what looked like years), and my hair was flat no more than 15 minutes after I left. I had even expressed to her that I was worried it would fall out and she recurled 2 pieces and then walked me out. I had booked a few extras when I made the appointment online, and they never even asked if I wanted them. Because the experience was so disappointing I decided not to say anything because it wasn’t worth the money.
TLDR; Not a good experience, not a good product. A total waste of money.
I used to go to drybar in NYC and was always satisfied, but I will not be returning to drybar at fashion island.
DEATH TO DRYBAR ZERROOOOO STARS, couldn’t be more pretentious and unwelcoming. I used to come here but over the years the service has gone down the toilet. Not only was it extremely hard to get anyone on the phone or book an appt but when I finally got one on Christmas Eve right before I needed to go to a family outting they refused to give me my full booked appt! I was exactly 6 mins late after I ran from the maze of a parking lot and hidden atrium where they’re located. They couldn’t help a girl out on Christmas effing grinches, will NEVER go back!
EDIT: on top of not providing service while I was there THEY ALSO CHARGED ME!
This place is terrific. The stylists are extraordinary. The place is immaculate. The service is second to none. If you want to look your best before your night on the town then I highly recommend you come here first. They are conveniently located at Fashion Island in Newport Beach. The manager Bree is so kind and helpful. I cannot say enough good things about this place and the entire staff.
I was very excited to try out Drybar while so was on vacation after listening to Alli Webb and her concept on How I Built This. As a walk-in, and first timer, I was greeted warmly and served very quickly. I was disappointed after that though. The stylist did not seem interested in chatting with me at all after she heard I was a tourist. That's fine, I can be quiet but it just seemed weird because the other clients all seemed chatty with their people. Then the fire alarm started going off basically every minute and to add to that annoyance, my stylist kept making loud, not funny comments about the situation to her coworkers while pretty much ignoring me. At the end of the style (loose waves) my hair clearly did not look good, it was puffed out half straight/half curled on the right which I made her correct and she was clearly not happy about having to do it. She did not walk me out at the end (again what every other stylist did). The hair was nice, not worth the $55 USD with tip though and it fell out quickly. I would try again but not at this location. Also be aware that they accept credit card only in California.
We had an awful experience with them! We were going to an engagement party and my wife scheduled a dry-styling with them for a few hours before the party. When she got there they refused giving service to her saying her hair is a little bit wet! She has short hair and her hair was not wet at all… it felt like they had scheduling issue and wanted to cancel her appointment!!! When she said I can pay for drying, too they said no we have no time available… the way they acted was extremely unprofessional… I have heard similar complaints from our friends as well…
